In 2025, I stepped fully into my sound. I released two original instrumental tracks—“Mesmerize” and “Vybrations”—written, composed, and produced entirely by me. These are not just songs; they are saxophone sermons, expressions of mood and soul that capture who I am musically. DLJ Music & Media is currently affiliated with UnitedMasters, a platform that empowers independent musicians to distribute their work.
Musical Offerings

Creativity has always been my compass. Known in artistic circles as The Saxy Poet, I’ve carved out a space where sound, soul, and spoken word come together. Through poetry, music, and performance, I’ve used art not just to express—but to connect, to heal, and to uplift. The saxophone has been my voice as much as the pen.

About the Artist
About the Artist – David Lockett Jr.
“The Saxy Poet” | Poet | Musician | Producer | Photographer
David Lockett Jr., affectionately known as “Babyboy” and widely recognized as “The Saxy Poet,” is a multidimensional artist, author, and musician from Columbus, Georgia. Born on December 3, 1980, to David Lockett Sr. and Jewel D. Lockett, David is the youngest of three children, with deep family roots and an even deeper creative spirit.
His journey through poetry and music began early, shaped by a love for storytelling and sound. David’s artistic voice was amplified after the loss of his sister, born just a year before him, who passed away at age 44 from cancer. Her memory and influence remain present in every creative endeavor.
David is the founder of DLJ Music & Media, a creative playground where poetry meets photography, music, and multimedia storytelling. With a saxophone in hand and verses in his soul, David’s work blurs the lines between genres and feelings—delivering experiences that resonate deeply with audiences of all backgrounds.
